ARCHIVING IN REAL TIME
Building archives for Black Women Artist has historically been a task for archivist of many institutions and organizations long after the artist has completed the work.
It is my aim to further eradicate the narrative that Black Women Artist do not exist within the historical canon of American Art by continuing to document, preserve and archive their artistic journeys.
By determining key events, documenting their lives and cataloguing their inventory the foundation of their archive in the community will be complete.
I believe that by building their archives ultimately accelerates the process of assessment, gives direction to documenting their personal and work lives and preserves their story.
